BORAN REKLAM / SIGNAGE INSIGHTS
Durable and Long-Lasting Channel Letter Signs
Specified for the building. Built for the brand.
Channel letters give a storefront or building a distinctive three-dimensional identity. Their performance depends on material choice, illumination, fixing, exposure and ongoing care.

BUILT TO BE RECOGNISED
A sign is part of the architecture.
Channel letter signs help people identify a business from the street and recognise it at the entrance. Letterforms, scale, spacing, colour and depth can be developed from brand guidelines and adapted to the proportions of the facade.
Boran Reklam fabricates channel letters for retail and commercial spaces. The design brief should consider how the sign reads by day and, if illuminated, after dark. Visibility is shaped by viewing distance, background contrast and site lighting as well as the sign itself.

MATERIALS & FINISHES
Choose each component for its job.
Aluminium, stainless steel and acrylic serve different roles in a fabricated letter. The required appearance, structure, fixing method and exposure should guide the combination rather than a single material claim.
01 / ALUMINIUM
Fabricated returns
Aluminium can form lightweight letter bodies. Sheet thickness and construction depend on letter size, depth and mounting method.
02 / STAINLESS STEEL
Metallic finishes
Stainless steel suits selected premium or exposed applications when its grade and finish match the environment and visual brief.
03 / ACRYLIC
Light-transmitting faces
Acrylic faces can create illuminated lettering. Face colour, thickness and diffusion are considered alongside the LED layout.
04 / PROTECTION
Appropriate coatings
Paint and powder-coated finishes can be specified for the material and site. Colour retention and care depend on the selected system and conditions.

LIGHTING OPTIONS
Make illumination part of the design.
Face-lit letters illuminate through a translucent front. Halo-lit letters cast light onto the surface behind the letter. A non-illuminated design can be the right choice when the setting or brief does not call for lighting.
LEDs can offer efficient illumination compared with older lighting technologies. Actual energy use and maintenance depend on the module, power supply, wiring, operating schedule and access for service. The chosen letter depth and internal layout also affect how evenly the face or halo is lit.
EXTERIOR PERFORMANCE
Plan for the actual location.
Exterior channel letters face sun, rain, temperature changes, wind and airborne dirt. Material grades, coatings, drainage, electrical components and fixings therefore need to be chosen with the site in mind. A sheltered entrance and an exposed roofline require different technical reviews.
Before production, assess the facade, supporting structure, access, electrical provision and any site-specific permissions. Correct installation protects both the appearance of the sign and the integrity of the mounting surface.

LONG-TERM CARE
Design for inspection and service.
01
Clean suitable surfaces
Use cleaning methods appropriate to the acrylic, coating or metal finish. Check the supplier guidance before using chemicals or abrasives.
02
Inspect illumination
Check for uneven light, failed modules and power-supply issues. Servicing is easier when access has been planned into the installation.
03
Check the mounting
Periodic inspection of fixings, sealants and supporting structures is particularly relevant at exposed sites.
04
Plan a rebrand
Colours, faces or complete letters may need replacing when a brand changes. Reuse depends on the condition and construction of the existing sign.
A CONSISTENT IDENTITY
Visibility supports recognition.
A well-proportioned sign can make a location easier to find and help the building feel connected to the brand. Materials, finishes, fonts and lighting can be aligned with the wider storefront, interior signage and wayfinding system.
For retail networks, a common sign specification can maintain a recognisable look while allowing for different fascia sizes and local installation details. This consistency is useful in openings, refurbishments and rebranding programmes.
DAY & NIGHT
The message stays legible in its setting.
Illuminated letters can improve visibility after dark when they are designed for the local viewing conditions and operated on the agreed schedule. Contrast and placement remain important in daylight.
Channel letters are a lasting brand asset when the design, fabrication and maintenance match the intended site. They do not by themselves guarantee sales, loyalty or uninterrupted visibility; their value is a clear and consistent physical identity.
