HOW SEG WORKS
The fabric is fitted inside the frame.
SEG stands for Silicone Edge Graphics. A narrow silicone strip is sewn around the printed textile. The strip is pressed into the channel of a compatible aluminium frame, tensioning the graphic and leaving the front free of visible fixings.
The same principle works for a non-illuminated fabric wall or, with an appropriate fabric and LED system, an illuminated lightbox. When artwork changes, the fabric face can be replaced while a suitable frame stays in position.
MATERIALS & PRODUCTION
Specify the graphic for its actual setting.
The material, printing process and silicone-edge finishing are selected together. Illumination, viewing distance, frame data and expected use all affect the specification.
01 / FABRIC
Choose the right textile
Polyester-based fabrics are common for SEG systems, but weight, stretch, opacity and diffusion vary. A frontlit wall and a backlit display may need different materials.
02 / PRINT
Match print to application
Dye-sublimation is well suited to many polyester soft-signage fabrics. UV or Latex can suit selected compatible textiles. Test colour and density under the intended light.
03 / FINISH
Fit matters at the edges
Artwork, visible area, bleed, silicone placement and sewing tolerances must match the frame profile. Correct sizing helps keep corners clean and the face evenly tensioned.

Exhibition example: produced by Boran Reklam through a Germany-based agency partner.
APPLICATIONS
One fitting method. Many environments.
Retail stores: Wall frames and in-store campaign displays can be refreshed by replacing the graphic face.
Showrooms: Large printed fabric surfaces offer a continuous branded backdrop.
Exhibitions: SEG fabric can cover substantial structures while modular frames support transport and assembly.
Lightboxes: A suitable backlit textile can be tensioned over an LED-lit frame for an illuminated graphic.
PRACTICAL ADVANTAGES
Designed for clean presentation and campaign changes.
01
Smooth visual surface
The silicone edge sits inside the profile, so the front of the graphic has no visible fasteners when it is fitted correctly.
02
Replaceable fabric
A compatible frame can stay installed while a new campaign graphic is fitted, reducing the need to remake the whole display.
03
Flexible formats
Wall-mounted, freestanding, suspended and illuminated applications can be planned around the site and frame specification.
04
Efficient packing
Fabric faces can be folded or rolled according to material guidance and packed separately from the frame for coordinated distribution.
BEFORE PRODUCTION
Start with the frame data.
For accurate printing and sewing, share the finished frame size, profile details and visible image area. Include the display location, lighting condition, quantity, artwork versions and delivery requirements.
For a backlit application, a physical print and light test can help assess colour, black density and even illumination before the full run.
AFTER INSTALLATION
Follow material-specific care guidance.
Cleaning and washability depend on the particular textile, ink and finishing specification. Do not assume every SEG fabric can be machine washed. Ask for care instructions for the supplied graphic, and inspect the installed frame and corners when changing campaigns.
COMMON QUESTIONS
SEG graphics, explained.
Are SEG graphics always illuminated?
No. The silicone-edge fitting method can be used in non-illuminated frames and in properly specified LED lightboxes.
Can the same frame be reused?
Yes, if the existing frame remains suitable and the new fabric face is produced to its exact profile and dimensions.
Are all SEG fabrics washable or outdoor-safe?
No. Washability, fire performance and outdoor suitability depend on the selected and tested material, ink and finish. Specify these needs before production.
What details are needed for a quote?
Share frame dimensions or drawings, application and lighting conditions, artwork, quantities, delivery locations and timing.
