PROJECT OVERVIEW

A Complete Visual Branding System for Canon’s Sirkeci Store.

In 2020, Boran Reklam was selected by Canon to produce the retail branding for its flagship photography store in Sirkeci, Istanbul.

Located on Istanbul’s historic peninsula, the store was designed as a dedicated photography destination. Boran Reklam produced the principal visual branding elements, including plotted vinyl graphics, foam-based dimensional displays and illuminated lightboxes.

Production was completed in-house, with the exception of the latex-printed elements.

WORKING WITHIN A HISTORIC RETAIL ENVIRONMENT

Adapting the Branding to Irregular Walls and a Limited Workspace.

The project presented a different challenge from a standard retail rollout. The historic building had walls that were not perfectly straight, while the available working area inside the store was extremely limited.

Instead of treating the space as a standard installation environment, Boran Reklam adapted the graphics, dimensional elements and installation process to the existing architecture.

Careful preparation was essential to achieving clean alignment and a consistent finish within the irregular space.

The project combined UV, eco-solvent and latex printing with precision digital cutting. Each technology was selected according to the material, application surface and required finish.

The completed store combined several visual communication formats within one consistent Canon environment.

Plotted vinyl graphics defined branded surfaces and architectural details. Foam-based dimensional elements introduced depth and physical presence, while illuminated lightboxes presented Canon’s photography and product imagery with consistent brightness.

Together, these applications transformed the compact store into a photography-focused retail experience.

FAST INSTALLATION BEFORE OPENING

The Entire Installation Completed in One Day.

The full installation was completed before the store opened to customers, preventing disruption to the retail operation.

Working inside a compact historic building required close coordination between production and installation teams. Detailed preparation allowed the plotted graphics, dimensional elements and illuminated displays to be installed within the one-day schedule.
